World Congress of Minimally Invasive Dentistry
10th Annual Conference in San Francisco
August 13 – 15, 2009
Dear Colleague,
I am delighted to invite you to attend this year’s WCMID Conference to be held at the Stanford Court Hotel in San Francisco August 13 – 15th. Are you frustrated that more patients don’t accept complete treatment plans, or that they postpone needed care? Are you frustrated that your patients return with new decay around fillings and crowns you have done? Of course you are, and so are your patients! And the answer is NOT because patients can't afford the plan or don't value your care. The real answer is because all of the restorative dentistry those patients bought failed, it seemed like a waste of money to them so they quit buying that program. Patients don't really start accepting comprehensive treatment plans until they have the confidence that it will last and be a good investment. So if dentists want to do more restorative and cosmetic dentistry, they need to help their patients become cavity free and periodontally healthy. The key to expanding your practice is helping your patients to become disease free. That seems counter-intuitive or a paradox, but that's the case – and it’s a win-win situation for both you and your patients! This is what Minimally Invasive Dentistry is all about, and that’s what WCMID is dedicated to help you achieve.
It is the mission of WCMID to be an internationally recognized community of healthcare professionals dedicated to the philosophy of Minimally Invasive Dentistry. Through our annual conferences we strive to be stewards of this body of knowledge, furthering the research, science, education and clinical practice of this continuum of care to our peers and the public. This year’s meeting promises to be a truly outstanding scientific program, combining the science of disease control with the application into daily clinical practice.
Thursday’s program will focus on caries disease with a panel of speakers addressing the caries biofilm, risk assessment, integration into practice, ethics, and legal issues. Friday will feature a full day with our keynote speaker, Dr. John Kois, presenting “Diagnostically Driven Interdisciplinary Treatment Planning”. Dr. Kois’ presentation will focus on a unique systematic “10 Step Process” of treatment planning that will guide the dentist through the key elements required to achieve predictable longevity, case acceptance, and patient satisfaction. And on Saturday we have a panel of presenters concentrating on periodontal disease and covering periodontal DNA diagnostics and the systemic connection, LANAP, and laser periodontal therapy. These programs qualify for up to 20 hours of Dental Continuing Education/AGD credit. We will also have time to network with colleagues, to visit with MID-minded commercial exhibitors, and to enjoy the sights of San Francisco.
I urge you to join us in San Francisco for this exciting meeting. You may register online via our website at www.wcmidentistry.com, which also has a complete schedule of courses and events and the hotel information. If you book your hotel room before July 31, we have negotiated a discounted rate of $179/night for the beautiful Stanford Court Hotel – just mention that you are coming for the WCMID Conference! Do it now!
Sincerely,
Alan W. Budenz, MS, DDS, MBA
